When we talk about low-budget CPU coolers, most people assume they’ll be recommended air coolers. However, many AIO coolers at a tight price provide incredible cooling performance, like the Enermax LiqMaxFlo 360mm cooler. What I love most about this cooler is not just its performance but the value it brings to the table in terms of looks, build quality, and features. Merely talking about its thermals, during our testing, it nearly matched the EK-Nucleus AIO CR360 LUX D-RGB, one of the strongest AIO coolers on our test bench.

Moreover, the AIO cooler has an embedded pump fan that helps cool the motherboard’s VRMs. This is a pretty neat feature for a budget AIO cooler that few high-end coolers offer. However, the LiqMaxFlo sacrifices its aesthetics to bring all these features. For example, the pump design is pretty plain. Maybe something like the ARCTIC Liquid Freezer’s pump would have offered better dexterity, but I digress.

Besides the aesthetics, the thicker radiator can be a problem if you’re using an SFF chassis. Also, having no control over the pump fan means you can’t change its RPM speeds. Although I’d like to deny it, the pump fan sometimes gets loud. But if you’re fine with that, this cooler is perfect for users on a low budget.

Its 3x fans run at 2,500RPM speeds and a decent 72CFM, maintaining good airflow in the chassis. During our dedicated testing, the CPU averaged 66C in Cinebench R23, showcasing outstanding overclocking headroom with no chances of thermal throttling.

However, with its performance comes higher noise levels. We measured noise levels up to 56dB(A), meaning the EK-Nucleus doesn’t only top the performance charts but also the noise charts. In any case, I justify the AIO’s pricing because of its unique pump and radiator design, which is filled with customizable RGB lighting. The Noctua NH-D15S Chromax.Black comes with a total of 45 aluminum fins, along with six copper heat pipes directly in contact with the baseplate. During our dedicated performance test, we noticed the design allows the cooler to have performance similar to a 240mm AIO cooler and adequately cool the Ryzen 9 7950X. The cooler also offers a premium build quality, with the heatsink built solely out of aluminum.

While there isn’t much to dislike with the cooler, the Noctua NH-D15S Chromax.Black has a simplistic all-black design with no RGB. The cooler fits perfectly in sleeper and stealth builds but will cause problems for flashier builds that require more RGB.

Usually, I wouldn’t recommend a budget CPU cooler if you’re trying to pair it with the Ryzen 9 7950X. However, the Enermax LiqMaxFlo 360mm AIO cooler is one of the only exceptions because of its out-of-this-world cooling performance and low price. Firstly, the cooler fans can easily be daisy chained, making installation easier and cleaner. Secondly, you get a pump fan that helps cool the motherboard’s VRMs, a neat feature for a “budget” AIO cooler. In any case, during our dedicated review, the AIO averaged 82°C at Cinebench R23.2, going head-to-head with many high-end options.

I’ll be honest: the LiqMaxFlo isn’t the best AIO cooler to look at. However, I’m happy with its aesthetics because at least there’s some RGB lighting on the fans. The pump design looks mediocre, but it’ll live because the VRM cooling is too good to give up for some RGB. Besides that, you get an extended 5-year warranty, ensuring you won’t need to change the cooler anytime soon, thanks to its sturdy build quality and serviceable radiator. The only issue with the LiqMaxFlo is its thicker radiator, making it a difficult fit in SFF PC cases. Do your homework beforehand if you’re trying to fit a decent AIO cooler in such a chassis.

The EK-Nucleus AIO CR360 LUX D-RGB is jam-packed with top-notch features, and that showed during our initial review of the cooler. It achieves impeccable cooling performance through the combination of the EK Loop FPT fans, which ramp up to a whopping 2300 RPM, as well as the capable pump. Build quality has also been kept in check, with EK providing sleeved tubings, and brushed aluminum side panels.

I am also a huge fan of the cable management system EK has employed, which includes daisy-chained fans, well-positioned fittings, and a rotatable pump head. If you are looking for a 240mm cooler to cool the 7800X3D, then I simply have no better recommendation than the Arctic Liquid Freezer III 360 A-RGB. It packs Arctic’s powerful P12 fans that come rated for an airflow of 56.3 CFM and a maximum speed of 1800 RPM. On the other hand, you get a 38mm radiator, which benefits from its increased surface area, and an optimized in-house pump capable of reaching speeds of up to 2800 RPM.

Even with the addition of the 60mm fan, the noise output is fairly reasonable, coming in at 39.4 dBA in our tests. Apart from that, I love how Arctic has made the VRM fan on the pump removable while also providing the option to control the fan separately, a feature that was missing in the previous iteration of the cooler. I am always impressed by how much Corsair is able to pack into their higher-end AIO coolers, and the Corsair iCUE Link H150i LCD is no different. The cooler performed well in our dedicated tests thanks to the powerful QX120 RGB fans, large copper base plate, and 27mm radiator. Corsair also provides a system hub with the cooler to connect everything together.

I was pleasantly surprised by Corsair’s iCUE Link system, which eliminates most of the cable clutter that you have to deal with in normal AIOs. In fact, during our performance test, the cooler did not thermal throttle the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, and we saw average temperatures around 60°C. While it boasts a premium build quality, the Dark Rock Pro 4 has a dual-tower design, a brushed black aluminum top cover, and a diamond-cut finish. Furthermore, the copper baseplate helps with heat absorption and the heat pipes are directly connected to the baseplate, improving thermal performance.

EK’s cooling solutions never fail to impress me and the EK AIO Nucleus CR360 LUX D-RGB is no different. It utilizes three of EK’s FPT fans, which provide a maximum fan speed of 2300 RPM while also offering 72 CFM of airflow. EK has also paid a lot of attention to the build quality of the cooler, which is evident thanks to the addition of brushed aluminum side panels on the radiator, daisy-chained fans, and sleeved rubber tubings.

Apart from that, the radiator isn’t too different from what I’m used to seeing on most other AIOs, featuring an FPI count of 20. That said, there is another compartment near the end to hide the tube connections, giving the cooler a cleaner overall look. While Arctic has introduced several upgrades with the Liquid Freezer III A-RGB, it certainly hasn’t been at the expense of its value. If anything, the value proposition might just have improved thanks to the addition of a newer in-house pump design. The P12 fans have mostly remained the same, offering a speed of 2000 RPM as well as an airflow of 48.8 CFM.

I am a fan of the changes made to the pump. Arctic has made the cover magnetic, making it easier to remove. RGB is also well-integrated into the pump, and I found the ring design to be a lot more aesthetically pleasing. Additionally, the VRM fan has also received a slight upgrade, now measuring 60mm, while also reaching speeds of up to 2500 RPM. Unlike its predecessor, you’re now able to control the VRM fan separately as well.

I was also impressed by how much Arctic was able to pack into the Liquid Freezer III 360 A-RGB. Here’s what I said in my review:

During my testing, the cooler performed similarly to 240mm AIO coolers. You also get a premium build quality with seven nickel-plated copper heat pipes and a fully aluminum heatsink.

The Noctua NH-U12A comes in a discrete black cooler with a slim design, making it a perfect fit for stealth PC builds. However, if you’re an RGB fan, you won’t like this cooler because it has no signs of RGB lighting. The Cooler Master MasterLiquid 360 Atmos ranks among the best-performing coolers we have tested. The cooler packs three of Coolermaster’s Sickleflow Edge 120 fans, which provide a maximum fan speed of 2500 RPM as well as an airflow of 70.7 CFM. In our tests, we found that noise levels aren’t too bad either, measuring in at 40.8 dBA at an ambient of 35 dBA.

Enermax has equipped the cooler with a 38mm radiator, a dual-chamber pump, and 120mm fans rated for a maximum speed of 1800 RPM, all of which contribute to its excellent cooling prowess.

The cooler comes with plenty of RGB on both the fans and the pump, which are always nice to see. In addition to all of that, it also has a separate VRM fan on the block, a surprising addition to such a budget-friendly package. The VRM fan can spin at a speed of up to 3000 RPM; however, its speed cannot be controlled separately, which means it’ll depend on the pump.

The cooler exceeded our expectations during our hands-on review, providing performance adequate for a processor like the Ryzen 9 9900X. It achieves that performance through the FPT 120 D-RGB fans, which are capable of reaching speeds of up to 2300RPM, and the capable pump.

I’ve always been surprised by how well the original NH-D15 was able to keep up with current-gen air-coolers and I’m happy to report that their G2 LBC variant is even better. The cooler comes with two of Noctua’s NF-A14x25r fans with renowned SSO2 bearings. These fans offer a maximum speed of 1500 RPM, and an airflow of 155.6 m³/h while also keeping noise levels in check at just 22.4 dBA.

Combine that with its eight-heat-pipe design, and you get an air cooler that’s essentially unrivaled in terms of performance. Furthermore, Noctua has gone out of their way to ensure that installation doesn’t take more than a few steps, which I appreciate. The cooler also comes bundled with a 6-year warranty, but it’s safe to assume you probably won’t need that given the cooler’s already exceptional build quality.

During my performance testing, the cooler allowed decent overclocking headroom without causing any bottlenecking issues with high-end CPUs.
